Introduction
The two French mathematicians Blaise Pascal and Pierre de Fermat collectively developed probability in the 17th century where Blaise sent letters calculating chances of outcomes of a number in throwing a dice to Fermat.
Probability is the branch of mathematics which helps to predict the chances of occurrence of a future event. Such forecasting which seems to be a logical guess but is measurable using numbers in probability theory.
Probability calculates the chances of an event in numbers the value of which lies only between 0 and 1. The value 0 of probability means it is impossible that an event will occur and 1 represents the certainty that it will occur for sure. The probability theory has its applications in solving many problems of prediction like the chances of getting a specific number when a dice is thrown.
Thomas Bayes born in 1702 is the mathematician who developed the Bayes theorem which helps to calculate the probability more accurately by using prior knowledge of the same events. The machine learning branch of artificial intelligence makes decisions based on big data by handling the uncertainty of available data using a set of methods which are based on Bayes theorem of probability.
